Introduction
With 65 new or expanded solar and storage facilities having come online in 2025, the United States has surpassed 60 GW of domestic solar module production capacity, a 37% increase from December 2024. Even as the Trump administration rolled out a series of anti-clean energy policies, solar and storage still accounted for 82% of all new power added to the grid in its first six months. The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) says domestic manufacturing now spans the entire solar and storage supply chain, but cautions that government trade policies could hinder further investment and job growth. This exponential growth marks a critical point in history—one where there is no turning back.
