The technology is called Onshore Power Supply (OPS) and will allow ships at berth to be supplied with renewable energy. Madagascar’s newest solar farm near Antananarivo uses 12 interconnected containers to store 8 MWh daily – enough to power 1,200 homes during blackouts. The container is equipped with foldable high-efficiency solar panels, holding 168–336 panels that deliver 50–168 kWp of power.
