Introduction
Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK’s leading port operator, is pleased to announce that Westmorland & Furness Council’s Strategic Planning Committee has approved plans for the UK’s largest floating solar energy project at the Port of Barrow. ABP first submitted planning permission for the Barrow EnergyDock project in March. The solar array is expected to generate 40MWp – that’s 40MW in peak conditions – with construction planned to start this summer.
