Introduction
The first step is safely transporting the batteries from the decommissioning site to a recycling facility. The batteries are sorted by type and size at the facility, and any hazardous materials, such as acid or heavy metals, are safely removed. Repurposing spent batteries in communication base stations (CBSs) is a promising option to dispose massive spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) from electric vehicles (EVs), yet the The strategy is applied to various reuse scenarios with capacity configurations, including energy storage systems. Pre-fabricated containerized solutions now account for approximately 35% of all new utility-scale storage deployments worldwide.
