Introduction

The container is equipped with foldable high-efficiency solar panels, holding 168–336 panels that deliver 50–168 kWp of power. The centerpiece of ZN MEOX’s showcase at Intermodal Europe 2025 is its mobile solar container product, a hallmark of reliability and innovation. Global solar PV manufacturing capacity has increasingly moved from Europe, Japan and the United States to China over the last decade. China has invested over USD 50 billion in new PV supply capacity – ten times more than Europe − and created more than 300 000 manufacturing jobs across the solar PV. ◼ Module price does not impact absolute transport costs (€/module) but high impact on transport cost share → lower module prices increase transport cost share ◼ Transport costs can account for up to 43% of final module. Chinese-manufactured solar photovoltaic (PV) panels are piling up in European warehouses, with approximately 40 gigawatts-direct current* (GWdc) of capacity currently in storage – the same amount installed across the continent in 2022.
