Introduction
This paper mainly studies the traditional thermal power primary frequency modulation and lithium-ion battery energy storage, applies lithium-ion battery energy storage to the primary frequency modulation of the power grid, and establishes a MATLAB simulation. This paper proposes a comprehensive control strategy for a battery energy storage system (BESS) participating in primary frequency modulation (FM) while considering the state of charge (SOC) recovery. Major projects now deploy clusters of 20+ containers creating storage farms with 100+MWh capacity at costs below $280/kWh. Frequency modulation acts like the conductor, ensuring all instruments (power sources) play in harmony.
