Vietnam’s solar capacity is projected to reach 18 GW by 2025, with commercial buyers scrambling to lock in container-based solar panel shipments. But here’s the catch: prices for 40ft solar container systems currently swing between $8,500 and $14,000 in Ho Chi Minh City ports. Vietnam, through its network of free trade agreements (FTAs), offers a powerful gateway for solar module manufacturers to access high-value international markets on preferential terms. This article explores how leveraging these agreements can be the cornerstone of a successful export-oriented solar. Vietnam's amendment to the National Power Development Plan VIII (Decision 768/QD-TTg) to 2030, reaffirms its commitment to renewable energy and positions Vietnam as a regional frontrunner in the global energy transition. 92 billion by 2033 as adoption grows across industrial, commercial, and technological segments. Today, Vietnam hosts over 47 solar panel companies, including major international players like Longi Solar, JinkoSolar, and Canadian Solar, alongside emerging domestic manufacturers such as Bamboo Capital and Sao Mai Group.
